Detect nearby activity. Put existing cameras to work.
A multi-building campus in a dense urban environment presents a different problem from an open site. Buildings interrupt sightlines, and an aircraft can begin operating close to the location being protected. This customer uses a distributed AirSentinel deployment to support prompt local awareness.
Sensor density matched to the streetscape
Sensors are installed at approximately every other city block across the monitored area. The objective is persistent local reception around the campus, with prompt detection when a supported aircraft powers up and begins emitting a detectable signal. Sensor spacing responds to the built environment and the customer's coverage objectives.
Connect detection to an existing security investment
Open APIs connect AirSentinel intelligence with the customer's CCTV system. The integration cues existing cameras to help security personnel assess relevant launch areas and people associated with an observed event. The camera view adds visual context to the detection; it does not turn an aircraft identifier into a verified personal identity.
Support the people assessing the event
Security personnel can combine current aircraft information with a closer view of the area under review. That supports a more informed assessment of what is happening near the campus and where further attention may be warranted. The value comes from joining useful sensing with tools the team already operates.
The operational value
This deployment shows why maximum reception distance is only one part of system design. Closely spaced sensors can serve a dense environment, while open interfaces extend the usefulness of existing cameras. AirSentinel adds airspace intelligence to the established security operation without prescribing a single camera vendor or operator platform.
